The second generation T-Bird, revealed at the end of 1957, this time with a back seat. Although the car has Michigan plates, the background seems to have been selected for its English appearance, which wasn't the only such use of such a theme: evidently English had an aura of sophistication to it, at least in the PR agency's mind.
The new personal 'Square Birds' were over 16 inches and 1,000 pounds heavier than their 1957 counterparts.
