Avro 689 Tudor 2 advertisement art, 1946

"The Avro Type 688 Tudor was a British piston-engined airliner based on Avro's four-engine Lincoln bomber, itself a descendant of the famous Lancaster heavy bomber, and was Britain's first pressurised airliner. Customers saw the aircraft as little more than a pressurised DC-4 Skymaster, and few orders were forthcoming [38 were built over 1945–1949], important customers preferring to buy US aircraft. The tailwheel undercarriage layout was also dated and a disadvantage."

The particular aircraft depicted in the art, G-AGSU, actually crashed the following year -- a summary account is here

It was closed as a station in 1938 although the line itself past Melling lasted until 1954 when the double track line on the eastern side of the river was completed.  See the book Wellington Transport Memories for more.
